Let's go to the BEACH!

The beach again!!!! Yes I know we are so lucky to be able to go to the beach AGAIN! We were expecting to have a great week but we had no idea how amazing it would be. Usually an illness, teething or a developmental milestone adds a challenge to any travel with toddlers and babies but this week was perfect. Livi had just learned how to fall asleep on her own and so she slept beautifully out on the beach or in her pack-n-play. (Of course she woke up several times per night but that's the usual so I'm used to that by now!) Charleston was on his A-game. Just before we left, he climbed out of his crib. We made a quick transfer to his toddler bed (crib with a low rail) but obviously we didn't have that option at the beach house. We put a mattress on the floor in between twin beds and he felt cozy and happy. He slept great and loved the new freedom. He has just started getting interested in pretend play. This added a whole new element to the beach. Gammie and Papa were the real stars of the week. Papa played with Charleston and held Livi any chance he got. Gammie took Charleston to and from the beach, fed him almost every meal and tucked him in for bed and nap every day. Joey and I didn't know what to do with all the relaxing time we had. We walked and read books and actually talked...but mostly we watched our sweet little ones and marveled at how blessed we are with our family.
